Synopsis

To efficiently coordinate the administrative functioning of the Corporate Communications department, taking responsibility for the development, scheduling and distribution of internal and external communications and supporting the team in the project management of communications activities and campaigns. To liaise with departments and teams within the business, to ensure the Corporate Communications department is delivering required communications on key dates in the corporate calendar.


Accountabilities

1   Assist with the daily production and management of materials for internal and external communications including corporate messages, press releases, and intranet content.

2   Receive and respond to all internal and external communications requests for content and digital resources such as wallpapers, infographics, intranet and Skylights content.

3   Editing, sourcing and writing materials for Corporate Communications channels as required, enhancing the content with photography and design, and scheduling distribution.

4   Research new content, tools, channels and opportunities for Corporate Communications to improve engagement with all audiences.

5   Organise internal meetings with campaign stakeholders and departments, providing advice where required, aligned with the overall communications strategy.

6   Prepare reports and presentations, ensuring accuracy of information, attention to detail, appropriate use of business language, and submission within required time lines.

7   Take ownership of monitoring and updating the group’s internal digital channels, such as Yammer and the Intranet, and support the Duty Media Officer (DMO) by responding to emails in the DMO mailbox.

8   Support corporate emergency procedures during disruption and major incidents as required.

 

Education & Experience

  • Higher Education/Degree or journalistic qualification. High computer literacy.
  • Experience of working on communications projects and demonstration of an ability to work well in a team or individually. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic skills preferred.
  • Excellent planning, organisational skills and possesses the desire and ability to network and form relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office: the highest standards of presentation and administrative skills are expected.
  • Flexibility: the nature of the department’s work can result in the need to work extra unsociable hours with little or no notice.
